Claudio Farinone’s guitar concert Preludes of the Sea takes place at Kai Art Center on Thursday, 13th May at 7pm. Concert is a journey that starts from the Mediterranean, cradle of a musical variety that has no equal in the world, and lands on distant shores, where the element of water is visual, sensory, and symbolic. The incessant movement, amplitude, scents, colours and infinite variety of sensations that are evoked by Claudio Farinone’s music, which oscillates between scores written by various beloved composers, personal compositions, arrangements, and improvisations.

The journey starts in Naples, with the music of Domenico Scarlatti, moves on to Spain with some traditional music, and then returning to Italy to build bridges with the music of Ralph Towner, Pat Metheny, and Egberto Gismonti, masters of the guitar who have always inspired Claudio Farinone’s music.
