Saturday’s day dedicated to the work of Peeter Simm closes with Georg (2007), a grand and emotional biographical drama about the fate of Georg Ots, one of Estonia’s most beloved singers of all time.

Georg is a deeply human story about the life of the iconic singer Georg Ots: his extraordinary talent, his dazzling career and his complicated love affairs. The film looks at the legend’s life through the eyes of his second wife, Asta Ots. It is a story full of dramatic twists of fate, the oppression of the Soviet regime, the price of fame and the inner loneliness of an artist, yet it remains full of joy for life and deep human understanding.
