We are happy to announce the launch of Kai residency program on October 15th.

 

A roundtable focusing on the role of residencies within the contemporary art ecosystem and further afield will take place at Kai Art Center from 5-7pm on October 15th. Participants include Kari Conte (Kai/ISCP), Juha Huuskonen (HIAP), Juste Jonutyte (Rupert), and Marge Monko (artist and Professor in the Department of Photography at the Estonian Academy of Arts). In addition, Kai’s first resident will introduce his work. Read more about the residency program here.

 

Sõprus at Kai, a series of movie screenings in collaboration with cinema Sõprus will take place at Kai every Tuesday. Kai movie tickets cost 5€/3€ and the joint ticket for the movie and the exhibition cost 8€. In October, arthouse films ‘The Square‘ and ‘Parasite‘ will be screened:

 

Oct 15th at 7pm: ‘Parasite’, in Estonian and Russian
Oct 22nd at 7pm: ‘The Square’, in Estonian and Russian
Oct 29th at 7pm: ‘Parasite’, in English

 

Let the field of your attention…. soften and spread out‘, an international group exhibition curated by Hanna Laura Kaljo, which is part of the main program of the Tallinn Photomonth contemporary art biennial, will be open at Kai until December 1st. Tickets cost 6€/3€ and provide access to the exhibition and related events twice.

Sam Smith’s film ‘Lithic Choreographies‘ is shown twice per day, every day – at the time of the sun’s peak during the daytime, and at sunset in the evening.

The Kai building now also offers food experiences. The team behind much loved restaurant Umami opened the new Lore Bistro on the first floor of Kai Center this week. Come check it out!
